Porcelain Busts

After taking some time off from my ceramic practice, I returned to it with new ideas and an open road ahead.

During that down time I studied the construction of hollow figures using slabs. This series of busts, some of which portray women under siege, pays tribute to the strength of women. Having saved every plate I've ever broken, I finally found a use for them,  incorporating the shards into the sculptures. These porcelain busts are about half life-size.
